Here is our big reveal... we did not hire a photographer for our wedding, nor a caterer or florist.
We decided early on to do as much as we could ourselves and to ask for help from our guests (family).
Therefore, we had a pot-luck / iphone photography wedding! And you know what, it turned out great!
The day was nicely captured by my sister Jessica, my aunt Pam, my cousin Sarah, and my dear friend Andrea on their iphones. And you know what -they did a pretty good job. There was a professional photographer in attendance (Rick Amado -he's an awesome car photographer), but he was a guest and is a close friend; he brought his camera for fun (there will be more photos to share once we receive Ricks images).
I also took some shots before guests arrived -of the location and decorations and the table. You'll see in some of the photo's below, a few gifts mom and I made for guests: heart pins and kitchen towels. But the big gift to our guests was having their portrait taken by me. I photographed each guest in front of the backdrop Dave and I stood before during the ceremony. You can see a bit of the backdrop in the first photo below. I made it using my collection of vintage scarves and hankies. It is colorful and delicate and full of vintage charm. It now hangs on the wall in our living room.

hey look at us -we're married! Dave is looking good in his Forage Haberdashery necktie.
We are so blessed to have such amazing friends and family. Without their generosity and help, this crazy pot-luck / iphone wedding would not have been possible. Really.
A few extra-special thank yous:
• Lia let us have free range over her home and gorgeous yard.
• Karin lent us vintage wooden chairs, glass votives, cake stands, and a lovely vintage champagne bucket.
• Haley (my 15 yr old first cousin, once removed) is thee best helper anyone could ask for. She was our all around handy-gal, especially when it came to programming the ipod and any other electronic device.
• Kati for doing my hair and make-up. I looked like me, just more polished!
•• And of course my mom, who not only made my dress, Isabel's outfit, and her own dress... but also cooked the main dish for lunch and baked the 4 cakes. All the while, making sure I was doing alright. No words can express what this woman means to me. I love her to death!!
