which would you choose?

mom and i need to choose one of these images as our contributor photo on a book project we've been involved in and we're having a heck of a time deciding. so we're bringing it to you....what do you think? which photo should we put out there for all to see?

i love tere's hair in #2, but i think #1 looks more like your true smiles and has more of a brightness/pop to your faces...
