we hope everyone is enjoying spring -it's in full bloom here in san diego.
we are packing up and getting ready to ship (to australia!) the largest crocheted fabric rug we've made to date. it's over 5ft in diameter -so pretty and so great!
hi everyone and happy new year! our appologies for not keeping the blog updated; we've never been very good at this blog stuff. being the visual people we are, instagram has become our primary means of communication. hello? communicating by photograph... perfection! do you follow us on instagram? it's so much fun and really is the best way to virtually *hang out* with us. we have two accounts: momhandmade and teresina47; between the two you get lots of photo's of what we are currently making (fabric stuff and food), glimpses around our towns (encinitas and san diego), family and some silly stuff. here is a look back on some of our 2012 images.
if you don't have a phone that accommodates instagram, you can still keep up with us by clicking on one of the images on the right-hand side bar (click here for teresina47 and here for momhandmade). we also post many of the photgraphs on facebook, so make sure you "like" our FB page... you are our FB friend aren't you?
we hope 2013 is off to great start for you. we've been busy making 100 baby bibs for a store in japan! talk about exciting!! we will share a few photo's of the bibs soon, maybe even tomorrow (don't pass out if that actualy happens).
and if there is an interest, we can have one this month, before Christmas.
host a sew with m.o.m class!
gather 5 or 6 friends at your home • everyone brings their own sewing machine • the class is free for the host
• sewing projects to choose from: adult waist apron, lined tote bag, zippered pouch, patchwork belt, pennant garland, child's apron, baby bib and burp cloth. we also offer a small gifts class where you make a few things: patchwork kitchen towel and bean bags. • sometimes the students use their own fabric, other times we supply it. • to host a class you need to comfortably accommodate 8 people, 7 sewing machines, and 3 ironing boards. it sounds like a lot but you'll see from the images below, with a little furniture rearranging it can easily be done. • classes are 3 hours long and cost $45.00 • not only do you learn to make the item, but we have you make a pattern so you can continue to make the piece on your own. • learn some of the little tricks we've gathered over the years. • we are available to teach in san diego and orange county at this time.
---> sewing classes make a great gift and we just so happen to offer gift certificates. (how easy is that!) ---> we also offer private lessons.
pictures from our most recent class: the kitchen counter made a great cutting surface
putting into practice what they were shown
we set up 3 tables for the six students
we're glad you're here!
want to be a student? want to host a class? email us for more information.
Fabric (lots of colors and patterns) Ruler and rotary cutter Scissors Sewing machine Glue + wooden clothes pins Twine
• choose fabrics • cut fabric in 1/4" wide strips; have them be at least 18" long. • chose three strands of fabric; tie one end in a loose knot. drape the knot over something to act as an anchor (unless you have a second set of hands to help); braid the fabric. • begin to create a closed, flat circle with the braid. once you achieve the size you like, use the sewing maching to sew a big X across the circle to hold it together. you can sew as many X's as you'd like. • glue to clothes pins. • attach string to the wall with nails or push pins, hang artwork and photographs with the fancy clips.

it was exactly one week ago today that we had our first sew with m.o.m sewing class. what a great group of women we had! mom and i were a tad nervous, but we were put at ease by our wonderful hostess, alexis of fern + feather and the awesome students. the class was shown how to make an apron: we shared our way of making a pattern by using paper grocery bags; how to gather fabric, make a waistband, and little tips we've learned over the years.
we would love to offer more classes. here is what we need... a host with a home that can accommodate 5-6 students plus me and mom; room for ironing boards, tables for cutting and sewing. the host gets the class for free! the cost of a class changes based on what is being shared. email us if you are interested. momAT42ndandorangeDOTcom
look at what we've gone and done: a brand-spankin' new web address! the image below shows the new url for our website; mom-handmade.com
AND... a new web address for this here blog: momhandmade.typepad.com
now unfortunately none of your external links will work any longer. if you have us on your blog roll, it would be great if you could redo the link with our new address.
things will be a little wonky for a spell while we re-do all of the broken links (notice how most of the photos are missing? yep, we have to fix all of those links).
all the broken links and fixes aside, this is exciting stuff! here's to new beginnings!

RAIN OR SHINE we will be at the Encinitas Seaside Bazaar tomorrow, Saturday 9am - 4pm. we have made more astro-turf christmas tree's!
modern tree:
classic tree:
look at this fabulous picture we just came accross: that's mom and her siblings (she is the one with the curly black hair). mom thinks her father won the car in a poker game. how gnarly is that?!
we've taken the plunge and are going to give the encinitas seaside bazaar a try, this saturday, october (duh) november 10th (9am-4pm). this bazaar is a pretty typical beachtown hippy enclave, but we're not afraid! we will stand tall amongst the tie-dyed t-shirts, teak furniture from bali, tommy bahamma overstock, patchouli oil vendors, and who knows what else... be brave, come see us!
it would be so great to see familiar faces; we would love to catch up
and hear about all that you have been up to! the interaction we had
with those of you that visited our shop is what we miss the most. plus,
we've got good stuff to sell.
mark your calendar: SATURDAY only 9am - 4pm 459 so. coast hwy 101 encinitas, ca. 92024
here is a photo i recently took while wiating in line at los quatros milpas, one of the best mexican restaurants in all of san diego. bring cash, be prepared to wait in a long line, and bring a big appitite because you wil want to try everything. thankfully the menu is not large: rice, beans, tamales, tacos; it's just real good.
Orange County friends : we will be at the sweetest little home show this Saturday in Long Beach. Vintage finds, jewelry goodies, and m.o.m! Shoot us an email for address and info.
BEAN BAGS you have shown us with your purchases from the m.o.m shop just how much you love our bean bags. kids love to toss them, they feel great in your hand, and they won't poke an eye out. here's our little give back to you: how to make bean bags -enjoy!
WHAT YOU'LL NEED: Materials- fabric (2 choices) -not to thick, not to thin. Ruler and rotary cutter (or scissors) Sewing machine + thread Lentils or split peas
• cut squares (2 needed for 1 bean bag) ours are 4" x 4". • sew 3 sides of the square together (right sides together), plus a little bit on the fourth side . • iron; cut corners off for ease in turning; turn right sides out. • fill with beans (to your desired weight). • sew closed.
Remember, you can view the whole video at YouTube, for some reason our blog cuts off a portion of the right side. :-(
MAKE A DOLL FROM A CHILDS DRAWING
Materials Xerox of child's drawing (so you don't ruin the original) Fabric (5-6 choices) Scissors or Rotary cutters Sewing machine + thread Embroidery floss and needle
• choose a drawing (simple, not intricate), get it xeroxed to your desired size, cut out adding 1/2 " seam allowance. • choose fabrics for the body (at least two). • lay out body fabrics, wrong sides together; place pattern on top and cut out -set aside. • choose fabrics for arms (we decided to have braided arms, so we are using 3 fabrics); cut into 1/2" wide strips, have the length long enough to get a 10" braid. • place strips on top of one another and sew together (this is to hold them together while you braid). • when you get a 10" length of braid sew the open end closed. • now cut the braid in half and sew each open end closed -set arms aside. • choose fabric for eye's and nose; cut out and sew in place. • place arms on the body and pin in place. • begin sewing at the bottom of the doll and leave a 2" opening for stuffing the doll. • stuff and sew shut. • embroider around the stitching if you like.
These two simple projects make for one seriously cute closet. We have found it difficult to find cute, inexpensive hangers for children; so we decided to make some ourselves. Not good at sewing? Don't worry, the wrapped hanger project is no-sew. And the hanger cover, is definitely a beginner project.
Go on... get to it!
HANGERS (COVER AND WRAPPED): Materials Hanger (we buy inexpensive plastic hangers) Fabric (left-overs) Ruler and rotary cutter Scissors Glue (Aleene's Orignial Tacky Glue is great!) Sewing machine
FABRIC WRAPPED: • cut strips of fabric into 1" wide strips, preferably at least 18" long. • glue one end of a fabric strip to the hanger and begin to wrap around and around and around, glue the end in place. • continue with a second and third fabric, gluing each end down. • let dry and use!
****************
COVER: • use your hanger to make a pattern (we use paper grocery bags); lay the hanger on top of
the paper bag and trace -keep in mind you will need a 1/4" seam allowance when sewing, so make the pattern slightly larger than the hanger. • place pattern on your chosen fabric; you'll want two pieces of fabric for front and back. pin pattern to fabric then cut out. • pin the two fabric pieces together, sew with right
sides facing each other with 1/4" seam allowance: 1) the two side seams
(remember to leave an opening at the top for the hanger hook) 2)
hem the bottom. • turn right sides out -viola!
Keep a look out here on the blog and in your inbox for information on our whereabouts and all the m.o.m happenings.
1) we are already in talks about when and where our first sewing class will be held.
2) our fist out-of-town event is saturday november 3rd, at 6pm in Long Beach: WINTER IN THE WOODS... a proper vintage sale. if you would like to attend, please email the hostess rachel reeves at rachelrreevesATgmailDOTcom -let her know you heard about it from m.o.m
Here is our third video with kin community. The classic flag banner was one of the first products we made way back in 2002. It has remained a favorite among our clients -it's so versatile!
Hope you like this one. As with the other video's, it's best if you watch it on YouTube.
CLASSIC FLAG BANNER (9ft long):
Materials: Extra Wide, Double Fold Bias Tape (1 pack = 9 ft) Fabric (lots of colors and patterns) Flag pattern (5" wide, 6 3/4" length) -we make the pattern from paper grocery bags Ruler and rotary cutter (or scissors) Sewing machine + thread
• choose fabric (you're going to want lots of different colors and patterns to choose from); flags are double-sided so consider that when making fabric choices. • cut flags (20 are needed) using the flag pattern you've made. • once the flags are cut out, arrange them in the order you like. • stack the flags in preparation to sew; sew each flag together (all 20) in one continuous stitch. • begin sewing the bias tape together from one end, mark 10" -this is where you will begin inserting the flags. • place the flags (which are all connected to one another) in-between the folds of the bias tape and top stitch. • continue stitch to the very end of the bias tape.
Some of you may have already received this in an email this afternoon. Sorry for the redundancy.
Dear friends and family -
There are big business shifts ahead for m.o.m and the time has come for us to let you in on it. Allow us to begin by saying that we are excited about the future of m.o.m, and the last four years at the studio+store in Encinitas have been incredible. We are truly blessed.
The big news is this: Mom and I have decided to close the shop; Saturday October 13th will be the last day (yes, this weekend, so don't hesitate to visit us this week). This is only the physical location that is closing; m.o.m will continue with a shift in focus and renewed energy to grow!
m.o.m started as a weekend creative outlet for us back in 2002. In 2008 we opened the studio+store and were given a four year gift of meeting and interacting with some of the best people we've ever met. We have remained in business because of you: the local customers, the out-of-town shoppers, and those of you online. We cannot thank you enough.
Our future plans: Seaside Bazaar in Encinitas - Not only do we want to allow you to get your m.o.m fix in person, but we want to keep in touch (in person) with you as well. Dates will be shared via email and the blog.
Photography - Bethany will have her first photography exhibit at the Encinitas Pannikin in early 2013, stay tuned for dates. She is also booking portrait sessions, contact her at bethanyjensen@mac.com To see a selection of her work visit the snap:bethany takes pictures page of the m.o.m website.
Sewing lessons - Recently, at the shop, we've had a number of requests for sewing lessons. So Tere has decided to jump in. The classes will be for adults, beginners or a refresher class for those that haven't sat at a sewing machine in a long time. Please contact Tere if you would like more information, terejensen@mac.com Subject: Sewing classes.
Orange County and Los Angeles -we realized that in order to grow the business we must expand our reach. We will be participating in street fairs and craft shows in the O.C. and L.A. area's. Information will be shared via email and the blog.
Party decorations - The last few years has allowed us to take the m.o.m look and apply it in other areas; a favorite area of ours is party decorations. Our banners, kites, custom backdrops, and use of all things fabric made Bethany's June wedding a colorful and cozy affair. If you have a need for unique event decorations, don't hesitate to contact us.
Custom orders - We are very open to working with you on an idea. No project is to small or to big to discuss. Reach us at mom@42ndandorange.com
Online shop + blog - More product and more information shared, more often. :-)
Pie Day - We are determined to continue Pie Day; now it will simply be a moveable feast. Yum!
m.o.m says, "don't run with scissors."
We hope these plans of ours have you as excited for the future of m.o.m as they do us. Thank you again for your support, it means the world to us.
For today's How-To video on Kin Community we show you how to make the cutest little Kitchen Towel Apron (from 1 towel we got at the .99¢ store!) -I kid you not; 1 kitchen towel! In the 80's my mom made a small wardrobe for my little sister out of kitchen towels and washcloths. Mom wanted something cute and unique, but extremely easy and fast. I know we have pictures of Jessica in the cute outfits, but I couldn't find them in time for this post. I will keep looking because you need to see them. So in the meantime, enjoy our how-to video:
Here is a still photograph of the front and back of the apron; below are simple instructions that should make perfect sense after watching the video.
Let us know if you make an apron. We'd love to see photo's; post them to your blog or on Instagram. Leave us a comment with info on how to see your images. Hmm, maybe we will be inspired to do a little something special for the cutest apron?
KITCHEN TOWEL APRON: Materials- Rectangular kitchen towels Cotton tape or ribbon Scissors Sewing machine + thread Dress form or a kid
KITCHEN TOWEL APRON: • this uses 1 rectangular kitchen towel. • cotton tape or ribbon: 4, 12" lengths (this will vary depending on the size of your child). • cut 2" off the long edge of the towel. • cut that piece in half; hem the raw edge. these will be the shoulder straps. • hem the large piece of towel. • position the straps where they are best for your kid and sew in place. • position the cotton tape for the 4 back ties; sew in place.
the third annual Friends + Family garage sale here in Encinitas, Saturday Oct 6th, 7-12 (address will be posted Friday -Done.). hosted by The Rustic Rooster.... and we're totally excited that The Ott's will be there too!
48 East I Street
we will be selling cool stuff and typical garage sale stuff: come by and check out the good and the bad.
A few months ago we were asked to share some of our favorite projects with the kin community DIY YouTube station. We went to Los Angeles for a full day of sewing and filming and hanging out with good people. if you follow us on Instagram, you were already given a peek at the day of filming -waking at 5am, sunrise over the LA freeway at 6am, behind the camera, and dinner with the producer (our good friend Robert) at the end of the day. It was a long, but fun day. Thanks Kin Community for inviting us to share some m.o.m with a larger audience -much appreciated!
So Hello! to anyone that is here by way of Kin Community and is visiting m.o.m for the first time -we're glad you're here! m.o.m is me, Bethany (Hiya!) and my mother Tere (Hello!). We have a little studio in Encinitas, where we make handmade clothing and accessories for little girls, plus whatever else comes to mind. Take a look around, see what we've been up to; we hope you stick around for a while, and come back often!
Today is the air date of the first How-To video: the Patchwork Belt. Mom and I are totally nervous because we haven't seen any of the finished video's! Thankfully, the shots were mainly of our hands (although we both have total old-lady hands -a family curse!) and not much else at all. So here it is -Enjoy!
(the right edge of the video is cut off on our blog format, so click the title link in the video box to get the full picture on youtube.)
Here are a few photographs of a finished patchwork belt, as well as simple bullet point instructions as a supplement to the video.
PATCHWORK BELT
Materials needed Fabric Ruler and rotary cutter (or scissors) Sewing machine + thread Iron
• choose fabric • cut squares (4" x 4") 12 are needed (use more if you'd like a longer belt). • arrange squares as you like. • sew all 12 squares end to end. • fold in half lengthwise and iron. • fold long edges in 1/2" and iron. • do the same with the short ends (fold in 1/2" and iron). • pin. • top stitch around the entire belt.
Ta-da! now you have a totally one-of-a-kind belt.... or headband, or scarf. Get creative!
*Come back this Friday for the next video. In that one, we show you how to make this cute childs apron from ONE Kitchen Towel we bought at the .99¢ store; seriously, ONE .99¢ kitchen towel. Oh yeah!
on sunday a dad came into the shop with his daughter abigail (a m.o.m model) to place a custom order of one of our ginger dresses for a niece. abby and her dad knew the size they wanted and together they decided on a fabric -brown and red plaid. too cute! mom (tere) took monday and tuesday to make the dress and here is the finished product.... isn't it great? we were so happy they chose the plaid, but then again we are pretty plaid crazy here at m.o.m; we sort of consider it a neutral ;-)
don't hesitate to ask us about making something special for you.
Here is our big reveal... we did not hire a photographer for our wedding, nor a caterer or florist. We decided early on to do as much as we could ourselves and to ask for help from our guests (family). Therefore, we had a pot-luck / iphone photography wedding! And you know what, it turned out great! The day was nicely captured by my sister Jessica, my aunt Pam, my cousin Sarah, and my dear friend Andrea on their iphones. And you know what -they did a pretty good job. There was a professional photographer in attendance (Rick Amado -he's an awesome car photographer), but he was a guest and is a close friend; he brought his camera for fun (there will be more photos to share once we receive Ricks images). I also took some shots before guests arrived -of the location and decorations and the table. You'll see in some of the photo's below, a few gifts mom and I made for guests: heart pins and kitchen towels. But the big gift to our guests was having their portrait taken by me. I photographed each guest in front of the backdrop Dave and I stood before during the ceremony. You can see a bit of the backdrop in the first photo below. I made it using my collection of vintage scarves and hankies. It is colorful and delicate and full of vintage charm. It now hangs on the wall in our living room.
me, dave, and isabel (Dave's daughter) -photo by rick amado
another gift for our guests: kitchen towels with patchwork and embroidery by m.o.m
the victorian banners were wonderful
the patchwork garlands made everything fun
my bouquet: day-old peonies and my "something borrowed" shell bracelet.
hey look at us -we're married! Dave is looking good in his Forage Haberdashery necktie.
We are so blessed to have such amazing friends and family. Without their generosity and help, this crazy pot-luck / iphone wedding would not have been possible. Really. A few extra-special thank yous: • Lia let us have free range over her home and gorgeous yard. • Karin lent us vintage wooden chairs, glass votives, cake stands, and a lovely vintage champagne bucket. • Haley (my 15 yr old first cousin, once removed) is thee best helper anyone could ask for. She was our all around handy-gal, especially when it came to programming the ipod and any other electronic device. • Kati for doing my hair and make-up. I looked like me, just more polished! •• And of course my mom, who not only made my dress, Isabel's outfit, and her own dress... but also cooked the main dish for lunch and baked the 4 cakes. All the while, making sure I was doing alright. No words can express what this woman means to me. I love her to death!!
Hello!
Okay its been a little over one month since Dave and I got married, so far so good! Hehe
Now that things have settled I will share some images from the day. Photos continue to come in from our guests so there will be more!
The wedding was very small, 19 guests total. That made it all very doable for me and mom.
The one thing I absolutely wanted was for all of us to sit at one long table. I want the meal to be fame style, where the food is passed around and guests have to interact. We made it happen! The table was set with china from two grandmothers, the flatware was a combination of vintage silver I purchased at an estate sale and my collection of Bakelite. The stemware, water glasses and votive holders were all from Ikea. Table linens were all vintage white- stuff mom and I have collected over the years and the cloth napkins were found at estate sales.
One of my favorite decoration pieces were the fabric balls. Big ones, small ones, and tiny ones were placed down the center of the table and also in bowls and jars on the drink and dessert tables. We did the flowers ourself. Gotta love the local floral growers that sell direct to the public. As containers we gathered up all of our various (mainly vintage) glass jars: Mason, baby bottles, milk bottles. And a few totally great finds from the 99¢ store! A stroke of genius came when we decided to decorate the glass jars with neon artist tape. It just added that perfectly silly little something to the flowers.
The wedding didn't have a color theme . Because we work with fabric all day long, and all sorts of colors all day long, I didn't want to narrow my choices, so we just went for it! Brights, plaids, dots, stripes, pastels!
Okay I will share more in a day or two... I promise. Really.
having an airstream on the property was the best!
married!
my one hope from the beginning: to have all of us sit at one large table.
wedding dress
wedding day socks and shoes
wedding day shoes: payless. wedding day silk shoes clips: ban-do
here are a few more pictures of our wedding preparations. thing's are coming along quite smoothly... the wedding is in 9 days! holy cow, how did that happen?
our colorful invitations:
isabels dress + shoes: mom made the dress and halter
my dress, just a little peek: vintage lace, new beading
ceremony backdrop + portrait backdrop:
so far so good with the planning; i'm really quite at ease about it all. i'm so glad we are having a small wedding; and i mean a really small gethering - 19 guests. you know, this way dave and i will be able to interact with every single guest -which is important to us. there was one thing i knew right away when the planning began - i wanted one long table that we would all sit at for lunch. i wanted a family style meal where food is passed around and people interact with each other. this is going to be good. our gift to the guests is a portrait taken infront of the backdrop in the last image. i will be setting up my 4x5 camera as well as the hasselblad -i can't wait!
this is a true diy wedding. mom and i are pretty much doing everything, but we are of course calling on friends and family for additional help. dave and I are having a very small wedding, 15 guests. totally doable -mom and i can handle making stuff for that size; intimate -guests get a better chance to know one another. these photos are just a few glimpses at what we're working on. as you know, at m.o.m we work with fabric, therefore take a guess at what the wedding decorations are made from? you guessed it -fabric!!
i will share more images soon. this saturday marks 3 weeks until the wedding -holy cow!
A little info for you: we have had zero success selling online. We do have an Etsy shop that houses our rag rugs and garlands, but we're lost amongst the millions of other sellers on that site. Therefore we don't put much effort into online sales. So... we're taking a stand and getting old-fashioned on your arse ;-) We take orders over the phone, via email, and our FB page. Just get in touch and tell us what you are interested in. If we have it, great. If we have to make it, that's also great. We're calling this Slow Retail.... we look forward to making something for you. Thank you, the management :-)
this saturday and sunday (april 28 + 29th) is the encinitas street fair. ah, the small town street fair... where every other booth is either a chiropractor or solar power company and next to them you have crafters along side rastafarians, next to the bratwurst king -it's a little slice of america. as you eat and drink your way along the fair path, leave room in your tummy for a refreshing glass of homemade lemonade. the ott kids are setting up shop at m.o.m, so keep your schedule open and stop by for a hello! and a little something sweet and tart.
mother's day will be upon us before you know it -only 7 weeks away.
i'm not sure you noticed the new page we added to the blog called snap a while ago (it's on the righthand side bar). it was my attempt to quietly and sheepishly put my work out there. i didn't say anything about shooting again, i was just adding images every now and then to show you what i see and what i create (outside of m•o•m).
well it's time for me to really put myself out there (complete self-doubt as i type that -must force myself to continue and not delete -i am worth persuing what i want)... sorry, mini-therapy session going on right there. okay finished, i'm back.
so... i take pictures. i used to take lots of pictures and then i stopped. i want to do it again. suddenly i have ideas, new ideas for me, i am daydreaming again about photography. it feels both good and scary.
images of children, mother + child, the whole family, siblings, dad + kids, or how about mom on her own -any of these would be a great gift for mom.
my photos are a bit different, so look them over to see if my style suits you. i love to shoot with film, medium format specifically, but of course i also shoot digitally. the last image in the post (of me and my late dog stella) is expired polaroid film -it's perfect, flaws and all!
if my work is your cup of tea, shoot me a line at bethanyjensenATmacDOTcom so we can talk about working together. thanks a mill.
what can we say? except what we know some pretty great people. great people that know how to bake some pretty spectacular pies. we had bite-size pie, pizza pie (the dixon ladies are unstoppable), coconut crust pie, peanut butter pie with chocolate sauce, banana cream pie (a few), chocolate pie, custard pie, a strawberry and a blueberry galette, and on and on and on....
here was our 4th annual pie day in pictures:
thanks to greta for kickin' butt and getting her pie day post up ON Pie Day! way to be an over-achiever greta ;-) and also to nicole of coastalfamilyliving for her take on pie day.
a million thank-you's to everyone that baked! without you, pie day would be a sad sight. and those of you that ate and played and colored and visited and jumped rope and shopped... we are grateful.
ps: greta's crack pie was one of the highlights of pie day; she's posted the recipe on her blog. another big hit of the day was bianca's sweet potato pie with homemade whipped cream... hurray!, she's shared the recipe on her blog!
hi! the countdown is on.. pie day is only 6 days away, how are you coming along with your pie recipe? this morning we sat down and wrote out our to-do list for this week; some fun things (buy flowers) others not so fun (clean the shop floor). here's something fun: check out the post social today, it's all sweet and gooey and has m.o.m written all over it! thanks post social gals for getting us to step out a bit. (we love, love, love the font they used for the title -it's perfect, check it out)
hi! just a quick stop to let you know we've been fortunate to get another boutique carrying our ties! and just in time for easter. if you live in oakland, please visit bella vita in the rockridge district -the ties should be there this saturday. have a great weekend! mom and i are heading up to culver city right now for the cream event. we'll let you know what it was like. my pre-judging thinks it's going to be hipster overload, but i'm going with an open mind. funny, we're going for business reasons (new idea's brewing) but i'm engaged! duh, gonna look at all the groovy stuff.
